When Ramie first moved in, parts of the house were completely open. Over time, she enclosed it, not to shut it off, but to make it more liveable while still keeping that connection to the garden. Now, floor-to-ceiling glass runs along the main space, and wherever you sit, you’re always looking out to the lush green.
The house sits slightly elevated, almost like it’s quietly observing the garden. You feel it especially because the furniture is low — intentionally so — nothing competes with the view.
She didn’t want to erase what was already there. The marble floors stayed. The textured ceilings stayed. The stone columns stayed. Everything new had to sit gently alongside the old. Nothing here is loud — but everything is intentional.
